For this week’s MMC-5006 assignment, we want to utilize Disney’s Epcot Center social media channels – specifically Facebook and Twitter – for the month of December to promote Epcot’s upcoming holiday events with goals of increasing attendance at those events and increasing engagement and followers on the SM channels. The park/resort appears to have four or five special holiday events for the month and my campaign will primarily focus on those:
- The Candlelight Processional featuring a series of celebrity guest narrators.
- Holidays Around the World
- Disney’s Yuletide Fantasy
- Joyful! A Gospel Celebration of the Season
- IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth
All Facebook posts would be accompanied by a link and a photo similar to those embedded in some posts below. Questions are for stoking conversation with users. (I tried to incorporate questions in Twitter posts but was too hampered by character limit.) All tweets carry hashtag of #EpcotHolidays. All tweets regarding celebrity narrators include celebrities’ official Twitter account links in order to potentially spur engagement favorable to our purposes.
Final measurements can be made from user engagement on Facebook/Twitter and attendance numbers compared to December 2014 and December 2013.
